Post EPR Compliances

Post EPR Compliance involves the periodic filing of returns and the procurement of "EPR Certificates" (credits) to prove that a business has met its annual recycling obligations. It is a continuous monitoring phase enforced by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to ensure that the targets set during registration are actually achieved.

It is required immediately after obtaining an EPR Registration for Plastic, E-Waste, or Batteries. Compliance must be maintained:

  • Quarterly/Annually: Depending on the specific waste category rules.

  • Annually (By June 30th): For filing Annual Returns for the previous financial year (though deadlines are sometimes extended by CPCB).

  • When Sales Data Changes: To adjust future recycling targets.

Required Documents

  • Sales & Import Invoices: Proof of the total quantity of products/packaging placed on the market.

  • EPR Certificates/Credits: Digital certificates generated by authorized recyclers in your name.

  • Agreement with Recyclers/PROs: Copies of valid contracts with recycling partners.

  • Quarterly/Annual Return Forms: System-generated summaries of waste managed.

  • Proof of Fee Payment: Receipts for annual processing fees paid to the portal.
